“Why are adult diapers so stiff and bulky?”
This question sparked our shared mission to create something better.
Ai Di, having witnessed loved ones face incontinence, revealed a silent struggle; hesitant conversations, avoiding outings, and the loss of cherished activities. These experiences highlighted the stigma around incontinence and the inadequacy of current solutions and care.
As for KY, caring for his mother during her battle with cancer brought similar frustrations. Thick, poorly designed diapers caused painful skin rashes, adding to her discomfort during an already difficult time. Watching her endure this inspired him to seek a better solution.
Seeing these issues recur over the years, we recognised the urgent need for a product specifically tailored to Singapore’s climate; a design that emphasises breathability, comfort, dignity, and practicality. A well-designed solution shouldn’t just meet physical needs, it should empower individuals to live confidently and fully.
Advances in technology had made baby diapers and pads thinner yet more absorbent, so why shouldn’t we expect the same of adult incontinence products? With this vision, TrueHugz was born, a brand committed to creating high-quality, thoughtfully designed products that meet the real needs of real people.
A Profound Personal Journey
“Hello I am Mag. To me, this journey is profoundly personal. As a wheelchair user living with a spinal cord injury, incontinence has been a part of my reality for years. Despite the challenges, I’ve led a vibrant and active life, including thriving as a global corporate leader for an MNC. However, finding adult diapers that were comfortable and effective, for an active lifestyle was a constant struggle.
When Ai Di, KY and I came together, we connected over our shared frustrations and an unshakable belief that we could do better! We envisioned a product that wasn’t just functional, but one that truly understood the nuances of life in our local climate and the unique needs of both users and caregivers. I am here to partner with you to make this a truly Singapore-designed product that evolves with the needs of users as we transition through different phases in life.”
